Lafayette home health company buys Florida business: LHC Group has acquired Lifeline Home Health Care's Florida operations for an undisclosed amount. The move gives Lafayette-based LHC access to a market of 1.46 million people, with about 25% over the age of 65. This is the second major purchase of a Lifeline asset this year; earlier LHC bought out Lifeline's Kentucky operations. National housing market getting softer: Housing starts dropped 6% in August, reports the U.S. Commerce Department, twice as fast as expected.
