Madhucon Projects Ltd has announced that TN (DK) Expressways Ltd promoted by the Company for Design, Construct, Develop, Operate and Maintain of KM 305.600 to KM 373.275 between Karur and Dindigul in Tamil Nadu NH-7 at a cost of Rs 360 crores with 20 years concession period and positive grant of Rs 86 crores on BOT basis achieved financial closure. SBI is the leader of the consortium for the SPV.
The Company is executing 330 KM Toll Roads awarded by NHAI costing Rs 1700 crores with Rs 408 crores positive grant, which is the highest for any construction Company in India.

Saudi Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Hashem Yamani, announced on Saturday the establishment of the Emaar (construction) economic city public shareholding company with a caputal of 8.5 billion Saudi Riyals (USD 2.3 billion).
He said in a press release, that the capital of the Jeddah-based company is divided into 850 million shares at the nominal value of ten Saudi Riyals per share, noting that the founders of the company has subscribed by 595 million shares representing 70 percent of the company's capital.
He pointed out that the purpose of the company is to develop real estate and reclaimed lands, and other lands in the special economic zones or in others, considered for mixed use or further development.
The company's operations, cover development of infrastructure, promotion, marketing and sale of plots of land owned by the company.

A construction manager will be hired by Kalamazoo County to oversee construction of a $28.5 million juvenile home approved by voters in August. The 64-bed juvenile home, adjacent to the current juvenile home at 1424 Gull Road, could open by late 2008 or early 2009, officials say. County Administrator Donald Gilmer said the county will solicit bids for a construction manager who will be responsible for keeping the project within budget and on schedule. Changes during large construction projects can be frequent, costly and unnecessary, he said. ``If somebody starts blowing a bunch of smoke at you, you have got to know they are blowing smoke at you,'' Gilmer said. ``It might not be obvious to a non-professional, so (a construction manager will be) our eyes and ears on the job.'' Gilmer said he wants the manager in place in November, before a contract is awarded to an architectural and engineering firm.
